The Heritage Collection is Madame Alexander® At Her Best
2004-01-01

The Heritage Collection, available only in 2004, draws upon some of Madame's most celebrated sculpts and designs to bring you dolls that continue to fulfill her vision of creating beautifully crafted play dolls for children. Each doll comes with its own exclusive, collectible box.

Charming Courtyard, a limited edition, Diamond Recognition Doll, has a classic Wendy face with blue eyes and soft, ivory, curly hair that has been decorated with sheer ribbon and dough flowers in pink, blue, yellow and white. Her dress is a pastel silk taffeta combined with a silk dupioni that has been trimmed in blue and gold braid, pink and gold ribbons, and ribbon flowers. An embroidered corset sets the dress off perfectly. Courtyard also has silk bloomers, pastel blue shoes with gold trim and buckles, and, an iridescent pearl necklace.

Another doll created to recognize Diamond Dealers is Just Heavenly. 8" new, classic, bend knee Wendy with blue eyes and a Tosca bob with bangs, is dressed in a Capri pantsuit. The pantsuit features a green boucle jacket with a peachy-pink boucle collar. A sequined flower closes the jacket at the neck. The coat sleeves are trimmed in the same beaded and embroidered velvet ribbon that covers her headband. Beneath the jacket, Just Heavenly wears iridescent green dupioni Capri pants that have sequined flowers on the side. Lace trimmed ankle socks and pink patent leather Mary Jane's complete this precious little outfit.

Platinum Dealers are being recognized with Madame's Best, a new classic Wendy with blue eyes and Tosca hair cut into a bob with 50's styles bangs. She is wearing a dress of pale pink dupioni and pale blue silk taffeta. Her very full white net petticoat that has been trimmed with pink lace goes very nicely with blue silk taffeta step-ins that are also trimmed with pink lace. White anklets and pink, patent leather Mary Jane's, finish off this very pretty little outfit.

Gold Recognition dealers will be thrilled with Maggie's Best Memories. This wonderful Maggie is reminiscent of the first "Maggie Mix-up" doll, and wears a plaid dress with a sailor collar. The collar and skirt of the dress are trimmed with blue rickrack, and there is a blue bow on the front of the collar. Maggie's Best Memories also wears a blue straw hat that has white ribbons. Matching blue Mary Jane's and a scrapbook complete this outfit. The wonderful scrapbook is filled with pictures of Maggie and her friends, Madame and her dolls face stencils at the Alexander Doll factory, a letter from the mayor of New York and the "Maggie Mix-Up stamp.

The new, classic Wendy with brown eyes and hair that is tied in pigtails with bangs is Pretty from Head to Toe. She is wearing a blue iridescent silk dress with a fuchsia waistband. She also has a wool plaid coat in a matching fuchsia. The coat features pockets, a tab closure and a fur trim collar. A matching hat also has fur trim. A pink taffeta petticoat, white tights and fuchsia Mary Jane's with gold nail heads put the finishing touches to this pretty little outfit.

Wendy Woodkin, is a limited edition, fully jointed wooden doll with 11 points of articulation and a hand painted face. Her bodice was created from a pleated green ribbon with floral trim and attached to an iridescent green silk skirt that is open in front and trimmed with a pink and green floral braid. The underskirt is a lovely rosy pink, silk taffeta.
Wendy Woodkin's outfit also features puffed sleeves, a pink tulle petticoat, rosy pink step-ins with lace trim, white socks with pink lace trim, and metallic pink Mary Jane's. And, perhaps best of all, Wendy Woodkin comes with her very own jointed, wooden doll.

Dressed in pink cotton print frock with a large white bib collar, and a straw hat this blonde, blue-eyed Signature Wendy with the new classic face was inspired by a 1950's Wendy advertisement. She comes packaged in a hard, collectible box along with stationery and envelopes with a drawing of the original design, and, a paper holder. Signature Wendy will be a must for every collector.
