Madame Alexander has always created wonderful babies and this year is no exception, in fact it is the best ever. There are those oh so Huggable Huggums, sweet little Pussycats, and an adorable Victoria. Plus, there are a few welcome surprises as well.

Being welcomed into the baby line this year is a new Asian sculpt, Flower Vines. This pretty baby is garbed in a green dress decorated with vines of flowers. Her little "black" bob has a ribbon, the same color as the dress, tied with a small bow. Lacy anklets and white satiny shoes, each with a flower, complete Flower Vines' outfit.

Pink Check Huggums, little African-American and Caucasian babies, in sleepers with footies, are new to the Huggums line this year. Hold Me Tight Huggable Huggums wearing a lavender gingham dress with matching bloomers joined the other new babies in greeting Pink Check Huggums. Among the babies in the welcoming committee were Flowers and Fun Huggable Huggums wearing a white with floral pattern tiered dress with an embroidered collar and, white sandals, Perfect Little One Huggable Huggums dressed in a pink romper with a white sailor collar that has white piping, buttons and a bow, and Honey Pie Huggable Huggums in a new summer ensemble. Her outfit, an organdy romper that has embroidered flowers sprinkled along the scalloped bottom and comes with pink attached bloomers is perfect for any occasion. And, when she heard there was new line, Watermelon Huggums left the patch so she could join the fun. Wearing a pink balloon dress that has watermelons on the pockets, Watermelon Huggums also has a hat that is trimmed with the same green rickrack that is on the dress.

Christening Celebration Huggums was at her own event dressed in a white chiffon christening gown with a white lace cap, and the Pussycats were honoring her by attending her celebration. Dressed for the Party Pussycat came in a pink dress with a flower trim at the top, 18" Precious Pink Pussycat was a vision in white organdy over pink dress with lace trim and a pin-tucked bodice and skirt while Sugar Pie Pussycat was wearing a dress of white organza delicately stitched on the bodice and bottom of the skirt. Light pink ribbon decorated her skirt and waist. Not to be left out, 14" Sweet as Pie also decided to attend and chose a white organdy gown with a light pink satin ribbon on her waist, skirt and bonnet. White anklets and pretty pink shoes completed her outfit.

But one baby didn't attend either event. Her mommy said that 18" Don't Let the Bedbugs Bite Victoria had to take a nap. Dressed in a one-piece romper with a fun "bug and flower" print, pink binding and snaps, the baby's all cloth body is so soft she was very happy to snuggle down in her bed.

Coming back to the nursery for another year of care and feeding is Baby's First Birthday Huggable Huggums, Grandma's Love Huggable Huggums, Perfect Little Pussycat, Dressed for the Party Pussycat, Precious Pink Pussycat and Sweet Heart Pussycat.
