Ever since she was a little girl, Madame Alexander was captivated by the characters from literature and fairytales. She was charmed by them all, princes, princess, heroes, heroines, witches, elves and fairies, and endeavored to bring them to life as dolls. It is a tradition that has endured through 80 years and continues today. Thus it is with great pride that the Madame Alexander introduces three new characters into Storyland. A prince, a princess, and a witch.
Cinderella’s Prince is exactly the sort of prince who would find a glass slipper. Dressed in a silver and pale blue brocade jacket, with an ivory vest, and pale blue knickers, this little 8” boy prince with dark hair, also wears a tricorn hat embellished by a feather.
When the palace clock chimed at the Stroke of Midnight, Alexander’s princess did not turn into a kitchen maid. Through the magic of Madame Alexander, she will always be the prettiest girl in the kingdom. Dressed in a blue gown with a sheer ivory overskirt with scattered sequins and flowers, this blonde 8” doll, is always ready to meet her prince.
The Hansel and Gretel Witch joins the prince and princess this year. Don’t be afraid, for she is done by Madame Alexander and thus, looks very sweet. The 8” with white hair is dressed in a green floral skirt, a red shawl, a cherry printed bodice and green flocked vest. She has gold granny glasses, so that she doesn’t have to poke anyone to see if they’re plump enough and two gingerbread cookies.
Hansel and Gretel want those cookies the witch has, so they have come back to Storyland, along with, Wendy’s Puppet Theatre, Cinderella at the Ball, Tinker bell, Snow White, Sleeping Beauty, Shoemaker’s Elf, Rapunzel, Alice, Goldilocks, Little Bo Peep, Toy Princess, Red Riding Hood, Fairy of Beauty, Fairy of Song, and Fairy of Virtue.
