MADAME ALEXANDER® IS PROUD TO BE A PATRON OF THE ARTS
2003-02-09

Madame Alexander was always drawn to beauty, and, the arts that so represented the beauty she treasured. The Madame took great pride in replicating the loveliness she so loved about dance, in her dolls. In homage to that original vision, the Alexander doll company has produced two beautiful, dance inspired, Cissys for the 2003 collection.

English Waltz Cissy is a stunning Cissy with black hair and blue eyes, dressed in a gown inspired by Worth. The period gown is pink brocade with an ivory skirt. She has a rhinestone pin at the shoulder and the waist, as well as opera length white gloves, and a wonderful lace fan.

Dressed as a ballerina, Curtain Call Cissy, has brown eyes and, brown hair throughout which, lavender forget-me-nots have been scattered. The bodice of the tutu is lavender satin, and has lilac beaded trim at the shoulders. The lavender tulle skirt is trimmed in lace that has lilac pearls and sequins.

The Alexander Doll Company, a New York-based company, is now celebrating its 80th Anniversary, continuing the tradition, elegance and innovation of Madame Alexander dolls with a full line of fine quality, handcrafted collectible dolls, baby dolls and play dolls. The company has created a series of "firsts" that have shaped the doll industry and has always been a pioneer of style and quality in this community. The Alexander Doll Company is the only remaining major manufacturer of handcrafted dolls in America.
