THE THREE LITTLE PIGS HAVE FINALLY FOUND A SAFE HOME, WITH MADAME ALEXANDER®
2003-02-09

In 1933 Madame Alexander created her first version of the “Three Little Pigs”, and the company has been creating pigs ever since. The collectors, both children and adults alike, adore them. And the pigs themselves have never been happier. They will never again have to be afraid of the big bad wolf. But pigs are not the only characters that have had their story told by Madame Alexander. This year, besides the pigs, two new nursery characters are being introduced.

“All around the mulberry bush the monkey chases the weasel, that’s the way the monkey goes, Pop! Goes the Weasel”. This little 8” doll with dark hair, is dressed in a blue and white plaid dress that has a white bodice, white sleeves and is covered by an apron top. She has a headband and little leather shoes. No stranger to monkeys, she brings one with her along with a cobbler’s bench and a weasel.

A classic face, 8” blonde Wendy wondered “Where Oh Where Has My Little Dog. Gone?” She looked for her puppy wearing a white taffeta dress with a pink organdy pinafore, and, a lace bonnet covered with flowers. The little white dig was found, hidden under a pink, laced trimmed blanket. The little girl was so happy she decided that wherever she went, perhaps to your home, she would bring the puppy and, the blanket.

As for the three pigs, each wears little wooden shoes and comes with a house that is actually a bank. PIG STRAW is dressed in a green sweater with a straw house applique, wheat colored shorts and a cap. PIG STICK wears blue overalls and a blue gingham cap. A picture of his house is appliqued on his chest. And PIG BRICK has rust covered overalls over an orange shirt, and a cap. The natural linen apron he uses for his work nearly covers the brick design on his knees.

And should you be in the mood for even more nursery rhymes, Madame Alexander has a storybook full of them. Turn the pages and you’ll find, It’s Raining It’s Pouring, Baa Baa Black Sheep, A Tisket A Tasket, The Wheels on the Bus, and that wonderful storyteller, Mother Goose.
