Since Madame Alexander’s first cloth doll in the 1920’s, dolls based on great works of literature have been among the most beloved, and educational, collections.
Edith, The Lonely Doll™, a charming classic created by Dare Wright, was published in 1957. It is the enduring tale of a little doll and her bear companions. Madame Alexander’s Edith Doll captures all the magic of that wonderful classic. Dressed in a pink gingham dress with a white eyelet petticoat, the blonde, 8” doll comes to you with her very own Mr. Bear Teddy bear.
Anne of Green Gables is a story that has always been a favorite, and Madame Alexander’s Anne will find her way into your heart dressed in a pretty brown print dress. The dress is trimmed with floral ribbon and a picot edge at the hem. Her straw hat is trimmed with satin ribbon and flowers. Satin bows on her auburn hair and brown flock shoes complete the outfit.
Anastasia, a story about strength and endurance, is portrayed as a lovely little doll. She wears a white voile and blue satin dress with eyelet accents, a delicate pale blue floral trim, and striped satin ribbon. The back of her dress is decorated with a bow, and her hat is trimmed with ribbons and flowers. She comes with a golden locket to keep her memories in.
The Jack and the Beanstalk story is represented by a little green-eyed, red headed doll with braids, who wears a yellow jumper embroidered with leaves and a Jack and Beanstalk motif. Her underskirt is green plaid as is the bias binding on the jumper. Fittingly, this pretty doll comes with her own stuffed goose.
