MADAME ALEXANDER® EXTENDS GREETINGS OF THE SEASON WITH NEW HOLIDAY DOLLS
2003-02-06

With each New Year Madame Alexander prides itself on presenting a wonderful holiday line. We think you will agree that for 2003, the Company has outdone itself and that the holiday offerings will more than fulfill collector wishes and expectations. With new editions such as the Thanksgiving doll, Sleigh Riding Wendy, exquisite Lennox® and Spode® ornament dolls, and a brand new tree-topper, the season couldn’t be brighter. And, just like the ghost of Christmas Past, favorites from last year, also return, for another visit.

There is a time each fall when we set aside our everyday lives and give thanks. To commemorate this national holiday, proclaimed by President Lincoln, Madame Alexander® introduces the new Thanksgiving doll. This blond, little 8” cutie is dressed in the colors of fall with a yellow sweater and pumpkin print pants. The plush sweater is trimmed with pumpkin appliques and green rickrack ‘vines’. Fittingly the doll’s Thanksgiving companion is an adorable, felt, multi-colored turkey.

Once Thanksgiving is over we begin to look for snow that brilliantly white covering which transforms our world into a winter wonderland. Just the setting for the new 8”, blond, Sledding Wendy. Dressed in a blue sparkle snow suit with a pink fur jacket that has blue and silver trim and a snowflake on the front, Sledding Wendy, comes with her own wooden sled complete with silver blades and a Madame Alexander logo on the top. Snow is also the perfect environment for the charming Sleigh Riding Wendy. Fetching in red and plaid silk taffeta, her holiday garb also includes a bolero jacket. This brown haired 8” doll has her own antique looking wooden sleigh and a plush Appaloosa pony.

Christmas comes, bringing new offerings to place in stockings or under the tree. It is with great delight that Madame Alexander presents an entire line of Christmas goodies. Waiting for Santa, girl & boy, is an especially darling pairing of dolls. Wendy, who has blond hair, brown eyes and freckles, is dressed in red Denton pj's, a red and white striped night cap, and reindeer slippers. Her bear, dressed in exactly the same way she is, shares the milk and cookies Wendy comes with. Alex has brown hair, blue eyes, the same outfit and accessories as Wendy, but no freckles. These two are so irresistible that it’s hard to imagine one without the other, but they are not the only treats Madame Alexander has created for 2003.

Deck the Halls and Christmas Ballerina will join everyone’s wish list along with special Lenox® & Spode® ornament dolls, and the beautiful Lighting the Christmas Tree Topper.

Fill My Stocking With Lenox® Stocking Ornament features a Wendy dressed in a delicate ivory dress with a striped sheer overskirt and gold trims. She has ivory shoes with a gold bow that ties in front and carries a miniature Lenox stocking ornament made exclusively for Madame Alexander.

Spode® has made a miniature Christmas tree ornament exclusively for My First Christmas Tree® with Spode® Ornament. The red-headed, 8” doll is dressed in a holiday dress and carries the green and white ornament of the festive holiday pattern.

Trimming the tree each year becomes an even more special event when Madame Alexander lights the way. Families all over the world have come to treasure their favorite Madame Alexander tree-topper. This year the company adds a glorious angel to the collection. “Lighting The Christmas Tree Topper “is a dazzling way to highlight the tip top part of your tree. Dressed in a “robe” of cascading lace, accented with red, this 8”, brown hair beauty has wings of gold and a crown upon her head.

In the spirit of continuity and ongoing traditions Madame Alexander is delighted to re-introduce, My First Christmas with Lenox® Ornament, Dancing Clara, the pretty little brunette 8” doll, in a white dress with a pink sash, that comes with a wooden nutcracker, the 12 Days of Christmas doll, dressed in a red and plaid dress, happily brings a Christmas tree, complete with tree skirt and a dozen ornaments, with her to your home, and, the Charming Jingle Bell Skater. The Peace on Earth Angel Tree-Topper also returns, bringing wishes for a peaceful holiday, and a happy New Year.
