Yes, after seventy years the relationship between Madame Alexander and the Walt Disney Company is still going strong. It has been the most fortunate of collaborations, merging the creativity of Disney with the perfection of Madame Alexander, a partnership that has produced excellence, year after year. And this year is no different. It’s a Disney celebration and everyone wants to attend.
Mickey & Minnie decided to host the gathering so they could show off their new looks. He, an 8” blond mouse with ears and tail, she, a brunette, insisted on wearing heels with her polka dot dress. The new 10” Tinker bell flew in, as did the Blue Fairy who had the 6 ½” wooden Pinocchio by the hand. His nose, as he hadn’t told any lies, was the normal size. Which the Blue Fairy said was a help, because it didn’t interfere with the flight.
The exotic, 8”, Mulan and 2 ¾” Mushu came, dressed for the occasion in her very best kimono. It was obvious that she had prepared for the event with great care, for her dark hair was arranged in the most perfect bun. Sleeping Beauty thought Mulan, who wore many colors, looked amazing, and said she didn’t know if she would have thought of combining burgundy, purple, blue and pink.
For herself, 10” Sleeping Beauty chose to wear a pink gown, made by her three fairies Flora, Fauna, and Merriweather. They were so thrilled that Sleeping Beauty invited them to go along that they conjured up a necklace and crown for her head.
Everyone was having a great time but there was a missing guest. The 8” Christopher Robin hadn’t shown up. He eventually did come but he was an hour late. Winnie the Pooh was the problem he explained. He’d eaten so much honey that Christopher Robin, dressed in blue, had to give the 4 ½” bear a bath and change him into a new red shirt. Both were very happy to have finally arrived. They walked in, along with old friends who didn’t want to miss the party.
Cinderella had heard about the celebration and called Belle, who was working on her Enchanted Christmas. She stopped what she was doing and called Snow White, who thought it would be quite all right if they went to see their new friends. The Seven Dwarfs, who listened in on the extension, promised they’d be good, and not do too much singing, so they, too, were allowed to go.
They all, Mickey, Minnie, Tinkerbelle, The Blue Fairy, Pinocchio, Sleeping Beauty, Mulan, Christopher Robin, and of course, Pooh, agreed later in the night, that it was the best time they’d ever had. And they were thrilled to finally join up with Cinderella, Belle, and Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.
