In 1946 Madame Alexander introduced her first line of Ballerinas, and, the composition doll Karen Ballerina. Those very feminine dolls have continued to dance their way into different Alexander lines for over 50 years. This year is no different and Madame Alexander is thrilled to introduce three new dancers into the 2003 line.
The Red Shoes presents a blond 10’ dressed in a white lace tutu, with a white jacquard bodice and red flowers at the waist. The same flowers are in the doll’s hair, and, as you might expect, her ballet slippers are also red.
Swan Lake is a classic ballet, and this blue-eyed Cissette fits right into the classical tradition. Her white, sparkle satin bodice is trimmed with silver and attached to a full skirted tutu. White feathers arc gracefully from her dress, shoulders, and dark upswept hair which have ringlets in the back. Her pas de deuxs are done in white satin slippers and pearls adorn her ears.
Twirling Confetti is a confection to behold in her sparkling pink tutu which has sheer “candied” at the waist and on her arms. This little 8” has her hair twisted into buns and pink slippers on her feet.
Back for another curtain calls are: Shimmering Dance, Spring Bouquet, Pink Pirouette, and Twirling Rose.
