80 YEARS AND STILL GOING STRONG! MADAME ALEXANDER® HAS AN ANNIVERSARY AND, CAN YOU BELIEVE IT, WENDY IS 50!

With most celebrations, anniversary or birthday, the tradition is to give presents to those celebrating, but Madame Alexander has another idea in mind. The presents are to be given, rather than received, in a wonderful new Anniversary Collection!
For this year of celebration, the company has created a very special Cissy. In Her Honor is a sumptuous Cissy dressed in a pale blue, duchess satin gown. The bustier top and the overskirt are embroidered with a pale pink design, and beading has been added to the bustier. The overskirt, which is fully pleated, also serves as a train. As a special touch the outfit has been lined in pink. Pastel rhinestones bring a sparkle to her strappy shoes, and the same rhinestones have been scattered over her blonde, upswept hair.
The Anniversary Cissette is the Cissette Shadow Yardley, blonde and dressed a blue outfit that is a replica of the one Cissy wore in the original Yardley ads.
But the celebration doesn’t stop with Cissy, it’s also Wendy’s big year too. She’s 50! Can you believe it? Well Alexanders does and to celebrate such a huge milestone the company has made an extraordinarily special doll, a fully jointed (nine points of articulation) 8” Wooden Wendy. The little blonde, so pretty in pink, comes in her own, special, recognition box.
Ribbon Celebration Wendy is another 10’ making her debut this year. Dressed in a blue and pink tulle gown with a blue and pink satin ribbon bodice. Strands of ribbon decorate the dress, and lead to a surprise at the end, a flower with a jewel in the center of each one. This blonde sweetie, with her big ribbon wings is as feminine as she can be.
Three other Wendys make their debut with the anniversary collection; A Toast to Madame Alexander which comes with a champagne bottle, It’s My Birthday, which is paired with a commemorative lunch box, and Wendy’s Anniversary Trunk Set. The trunk set includes a treasure trove of presents. The blonde doll, dressed in a pink dress with a white pinafore and pink Mary Janes, can look in her trunk and find more clothes: rompers, a plaid silk coat with matching dress, pj’s, and slippers. But the surprise doesn’t end there; toys are also in the trunk. A doll, roller skates, and a jump rope have been put in the trunk to keep Wendy very, very happy.
The Alexander Doll Company, a New York-based company, is now celebrating its 80th Anniversary, continuing the tradition, elegance and innovation of Madame Alexander dolls with a full line of fine quality, handcrafted collectible dolls, baby dolls and play dolls. The company has created a series of "firsts" that have shaped the doll industry and has always been a pioneer of style and quality in this community. The Alexander Doll Company is the only remaining major manufacturer of handcrafted dolls in America.
