Madame Alexander is pleased to bring the joy and fairytale romance of Disney Princesses to little girls everywhere with the new Disney Princess line from the Classics Collection. Madame Alexander’s Disney Princesses are 10-inch versions of the beloved princesses and include Cinderella, Belle at Christmas and the Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs Gift Set. Made with the superior quality associated with Madame Alexander, each princess beautifully showcases the talent of the Alexander Design Team. Careful attention to character is evident in the dolls’ exquisitely nuanced, hand-painted faces and in the intricate costumes that are faithfully reproduced from favorite Disney films.
Friendly talking mice, birds and a beneficent Fairy Godmother are just some of the elements that have made Disney’s 1950 animated film “Cinderella” a classic fairy tale. This year, Madame Alexander brings this magical story to life with a charming 10-inch Cinderella. Just like the screen version, Cinderella wears a powder blue gown created for her by her Fairy Godmother so she can attend the Prince’s royal ball. The blue charmeuse gown has sheer puffed sleeves glinting with sparkles, a fitted bodice, split peplum and full skirt. To accessorize her look, Cinderella also wears opera-length white gloves, a black choker and pearl studs. Finally, her blonde hair is worn in her traditional upswept style, secured by a blue satin ribbon. Among Cinderella’s most steadfast and loyal friends are the mice who tried valiantly to make a dress for Cinderella to wear to the ball. Madame Alexander’s Cinderella comes complete with three endearing 1-1/2-inch resin versions of Suzy the seamstress mouse (holding her oversized threaded needle), brave Jaq and loveable Gus. Cinderella and her engaging trio of petite pals are the perfect gift for children, collectors and anyone who believes in “happily ever after.”
Disney’s 1991 animated version of “Beauty and the Beast” is a love story that urges us to look past the “beast” in order to find the “prince” within. From the subsequent video release of 1997’s “Beauty and the Beast: The Enchanted Christmas,” Madame Alexander’s introduces the lovely Belle dressed in festive holiday finery, determined to bring seasonal cheer and happiness to the Beast. She wears a red satin dress with a gold satin front panel on the bodice and a red rosette accent on the scoop neckline. The three-quarter-length sleeves have flounced gold cuffs and the full skirt of the gown is split to reveal the gold, lace-trimmed underskirt beneath and gold lamé heels. Belle’s delicate features are framed by dark hair worn long and swept back from her face. Belle comes with her friend, Angelique, a 1-1/2-inch tall resin angel with petite white wings and a golden halo.
Disney’s 1937 production of “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs” was the first full-length animated feature in color, and remains one of the most acclaimed animated films of all time. As a tribute to the film, Madame Alexander is proud to introduce the new Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs Gift Set. Beautifully designed and executed, Snow White wears her signature costume: a dress with a royal blue duchess satin bodice detailed with a vertical line of black soutache trim, pale blue satin puffed sleeves with red satin inserts and a full yellow skirt. Over her shoulders she wears her famous royal blue satin cape lined with red satin and features a white satin stand-up collar. Snow White’s fine features are complimented by black hair held back by a red satin ribbon.
The Seven Dwarfs, Snow White’s stalwart and adoring protectors, each have distinctive personalities expressed through costume, facial features and body language. For the new Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs Gift Set, the Alexander Design Team has cleverly captured the quirky personas of Sleepy, Doc, Grumpy, Dopey, Sneezy, Happy, and Bashful. All Seven Dwarfs are fittingly attired in belted tunics, trousers and peaked caps, however, it is their expressive hand-painted faces that make each one unique. Sleepy is drowsily sweet, Grumpy is lovably displeased, Dopey is delightfully silly and Sneezy expectantly anticipates his next sneeze.
