The Madame Alexander Doll Hospital is where you can send dolls that need special repair or mending. Our dolls are meant to be treasured by many generations, so we're here to help you take care of them! We're sorry, but we do NOT provide estimates of doll value or doll age. There are many resources online and in print that provide this information. Here are just a few resources to help you research the value and/or age of your dolls:

MADAME ALEXANDER - IS SHE REAL?


YES! Madame Beatrice Alexander Behrman founded the Alexander Doll Company in 1923. The daughter of Russian immigrants, Beatrice Alexander was born in Brooklyn, New York on March 9, 1895. She was raised over her father's doll hospital - the first in America - and often played with the dolls waiting to be mended. Her belief in the American dream, combined with her love of dolls and their costumes, led her to start her own doll company when she was 28 years old. Although she passed away on October 3, 1990 at the age of 95, her legacy continues in The Alexander Doll Company. Click here to learn more!

RETURNS POLICY - 18 INCH PLAY DOLLS


We are proud to produce unique dolls that are sold through special retailers (see list below). These dolls are usually produced for only one year, and then are replaced by updated doll designs. Since they are not offered as part of the Madame Alexander product line, we may not have replacement dolls available. As with all of our dolls, we stand behind the quality and workmanship of these dolls. For these 18 inch play dolls, we offer a ONE YEAR policy for manufacturing defects, as determined by inspection at our facility. We will repair or replace our dolls as described below.

What to do if you have a problem with your doll:

1. Take your doll back to the store where you purchased it. This is the fastest and easiest way! Also, you are most likely to get the exact doll as a replacement if you go back to the store. Please be aware that each store will have their own return policies, and you should refer to their policies for returns or exchanges.

2. If you have attempted to return the doll to the store where you purchased it and they are not able to help you.

Do you have your Receipt?

YES and the purchase date is WITHIN one year of today - Return your UNDRESSED doll to us (DO NOT send clothing), along with a copy of your receipt, a description of the problem, your contact information including name, address, phone number, and email address. We will attempt to repair your doll or replace it with as similar a doll as we can. We CAN NOT guarantee that you will receive back exactly the same doll. NEXT STEP: Send your UNDRESSED doll to The Doll Hospital address at the bottom of this page.

YES but the purchase date is MORE than one year ago - We will attempt to repair your doll. If we cannot repair it, you can purchase a new doll at the reduced price of $25 (price includes shipping to you!). NEXT STEP: Return your UNDRESSED doll to us (DO NOT send clothing), along with a copy of your receipt, a description of the problem, and your contact information including name, address, phone number, and email address. We will contact you to process your order. Send your UNDRESSED doll to The Doll Hospital address at the bottom of this page.

NO I don't have a receipt - That's OK! You can determine the age of the doll by looking for a tag that is sewn into the right-hand side of the doll's cloth body. The age can be determined by looking at the last 2 digits of the numbers on the tag as follows. Please note that there may be multiple informational tags sewn in, but that you should look for the tag with only numbers on it.
